What’s the easiest way to get to Halle- & Hunneberg?

Halle- & Hunneberg can be accessed from several directions, but the easiest routes are from Vargön and Tunhem.

When will the restaurant open?

We are planning to open the restaurant in May. Until then, you are welcome to visit our café. There are also other dining options nearby.Uppegårdens Vilt - Kök & Rum för aktuella öppettider, meny och bordsbokning. I besökscentret finns också ett café där du kan få dig en kopp kaffe och något gott att fika.

What animals can I see in the mountains?

You can find nearly all the animals native to Sweden on the mountains – but most visitors come to see the moose. Curious visitors can also join a beaver safari.

What happens at Rörmossen between March 1 and May 15?

During March and May, birds nest at Rörmossen. To protect the birdlife, entry to Rörmossen is prohibited from March 1 to May 15.

How long are the hiking trails?

The total length of marked trails for hiking is 70 km, but there are both short and long routes. Read more about the answer: Our hiking trails

When is the best time to see moose?

Get up with the dawn or stay awake towards the evening. Moose are most active at dawn and dusk, but at Halle- & Hunneberg, they can be spotted throughout the day.

Were can I park?

There is a large parking lot at Bergagården. There are also several parking lots scattered throughout the hills. Learn more about parking.

Are there any toilets?

Yes, there are restrooms at Bergagården. There are both outdoor dry toilets and restrooms inside our visitor center.

Are there barbecue areas?

Yes, there are about 49 barbecue areas scattered throughout the mountains that you're welcome to use. Remember to bring your own firewood.

Does it cost anything to visit the area?

No, there is no charge for visiting the area. If you are planning an organized event for a larger group, a service fee will apply. Please contact us if you would like to book an activity or event on the mountain.

Can we book activities as a group or a company?

Yes, you can book activities with us for both companies and groups. Learn more about our activities. We also offer conferences and team-building events.

Stay at the mountains

Can I park my caravan by the mountains?

Caravans are not allowed on the mountains, but camping Hunnebergs Gård is located at the base of the mountains.

Is overnight parking allowed?

Yes, it is allowed to stay overnight in the parking area!

Where can I camp?

Arrow icon

You can camp in the mountains – just keep in mind that you can only have your tent set up in the same spot for one night. Camping in Randskogreservatet at Halle and Hunneberg, Öjemossen Nature Reserve, and Grinnsjö Nature Reserve is not permitted.

Accommodation nearby?

The most enjoyable and unique accommodation option is our Glamping! There is also Ronnums Herrgård Hostel & Camping just at the base of the mountains. Ronnums Herrgård is also a short distance away.
